• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

How long does a prime rib take. Do I rub it just like a brisket? What temp do u pull it?

Thanks,

Steve

a 15+ lber taks 3-4 hours.

i have to update that recipe.

Changes..

1 - After the marinade sets, rub it heavy with turbinado sugar, then the montreal steak seasoning.

2 - for the bigger 10+ lbs Pull it at 125, no higher. It will cook on its own heat load. to medium at the ends, rare in the middle. A quick shot on the grill for the slices that are too rare. But its easier to grill it further than to uncook if its too well done. :)

Just follow Phil's recipie here.

I have had his Prime Rib (without the special rub)--it is to die for

All of the above. Works great on any beef roast. I cook prime rib, tenderloin, sirloin tip, eye of the round all using Phil's prime rib method and they come out great every single time.
