Asked to cook a whole hog 65-75lb for Halloween . I've cooked a few but need help with pricing. Thanks

Hi Matt, A quick way to come up with pricing is to multiply your costs by 3, this will give you a 33% food costs which is pretty standard.

So if you are paying $2/pound on a 75 lb hog your costs would be $150 and your sales price would be $450.

If you wanted a different food cost, simply divide your total cost by that percentage.

30%= $150/.3 = $500 selling price.

Hope that helps!

AS A BUSINESSMAN -
I will put it gently -
charge as much as you can.
There is no way in heck I am paying $100 for a piggy,
and serving it for $300.
$600 or no thanks. This is in a higher priced D.C area, but still.
Let them do it, they will call you next year.
