• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Okay, so my main smoker pit, da Char Broiler was startin to rust and paint chip after 2 years of heavy usage. Lots a sanding, scraping, and wiping to say the least. Waited for an 80-85 degree day here in SoCal and used a whole can of dull black high temp bbq grill paint on her. Shes cleaned up for summer. Couple a butts, a brisket and a fattie were cooked the following day.

Heres my new pride and joy. Rescued from a stupid arse neighbors trash.
Notice the Webber chimney, utensil hanger rings and metal side tray were also included in said stupid arse neighbors trash. You'll also notice my little red tried and true ECB in the back ground.

Pretty sweet.

Looks like some taggers got you on the wall though...

Any mods to the CB? 2 years uncovered in the PNW and those table slats are history! Obviously your neighbor does not appreciate the quality of that classic kettle.

Brian

They look good, so does the food.

What do you do to keep you lawn so green?

The best Weber kettle I ever had was a free one.
And the best part is, you are saving the environment by salvaging that kettle, although the greenies may dispute that because you are cooking over <gasp!> an open fire.
Way to go Fin! Lookin' good!

We can start a new campaign - "Save the Earth one kettle at a time."

I believe that saving the earth "One Kettle at a time" is maybe the most worthy cause I have ever heard of. I also believe the proper torture of animal hostillities in a Weber Kettle MUST be taught to the world.

Someone burned a hole in your lawn putting a hot chimney down

Fin,
On closer inspection of your pics, I noticed that you didn't have the "Ks" lined up properly in your kettle. This could be a problem in the long run...

Please define "K's" Harbor!

Yes, a small hole was burned into my HD lawn with that dang chimney starter. I'm gonna switch back to lighter fluid...

The last ride on that board looks like it might have been a rough one? I wonder if they got in the Green Room?

I have the same Charbroil and noticed mty first rust spot last weekend smoking brisket. Just above the fire box door. Any quick and easy touch ups? I'ts only about the size of a dime. My Char is 2 years old.
I keep my chimney on the bottom rack, but have to set it gently so it doesn't fall over.

Food looks good, so does the overhaul on the Charbroil!
