• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

It's been a two year process but it's almost done. Finally finished the backsplash behind the range, and completed grouting all the tile. Still need to put the stainless surround around the hood exhaust, put up some molding, and pay someone to paint the entire kitchen.

That's beautiful! Great looking stove, too!

Thanks Kat, we are very happy with it. We looked at Wolf and Viking also, but went with the Kitchenaid because it has the highest ratings on Consumer Reports for 36" commercial style ranges. Of course it didn't hurt that it was also several thousand cheaper than those other two.

Looks like Soapstone counters? How do you like them? I love mine.

I was just going to ask this...wish I had done soap stone.

It's actually a dark granite with a "leathered" finish. We originally wanted soapstone, but we knew we wouldn't keep up with the required maintenance. This gives us the look of soapstone and the durability of granite.

Looks good. My old house had the leathered granite. We liked it alot. Did have a handful of chips after 3 years, but nothing crazy.

Never heard of leathered granite. But it looks great! As for soapstone, what maintenance??? It's impervious to everything, doesn't require a sealer... Maybe a coat of mineral oil once in a while to darken it up again. I just wipe mine down with soap & water.

The mineral oil wipe down is what I was referring to. I work 12 hr shifts, the wife works 55-60 hrs/wk, and we have our grandkids every weekend. That doesn't leave a lot of time for nice to do things.

Leathered granite has a textured vice a polished finish. Our particular slabs have small flecks of white/gray, and the occasional vein running through it.

Come on up - will be doing Mad Max's turkey again, and all the sides. Plenty of room for a few more.

Bring that gorgeous looking GSD with you, give mine another to play with:
