• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

How do you order your prime rib when eating at a restaurant?
(research for public opinion)

I like just a little pink in the middle so I voted Medium. I know how you voted Joe: slice it off the cow; barely let it touch the pan on each side and put it on the plate.

I like the middle to be warm at least. No A1, just dab each slice in its own au ju.

I cant take that feeling of eating raw meat. Call me a wuss - you da man.

I'll order Med-rare in most places. If it is a place I'm familiar with, and I'm comfortable ordering rare there I'll do that.

If it's at Phil's house I don't care, as long as I get an end piece....

I was told by a chef that anything past medium would make the meat tougher... But I go for rare usually.

While I'm a "butcher it and throw it on a plate" kind of guy for steaks, I've found that prime rib has a better flavor at medium rare instead of rare.

I order mine with a rum & coke and cards from a cute Keno girl.

Unless I'm confident of the chef, I'll order medium. Most of the chefs in these parts don't know med-rare (which I perfer) from a wet doughnut. Not sure what that means, but it fits.

I tell the waiter that I want the inside pink and warm. Then it's up to the waiter to figure out how to write-up the order based on how THEY define rare, medium rare etc. I've thought about carrying this picture in my wallet just in case they need a visual. LOL

Thirdeye, that sounds like a good way to handle it.

I always ask how they define medium rare. Sometimes you just get that blank stare. At that point I really start to get nervous!

Medium Rare with Horseradish Sauce

Other than Poohbahs P.Rib that I had at the fall bash, which was the best I have ever eaten. I normally order cajun blackened, which I believe they start w/a rare piece. Then apply rub, and into extreemly hot cast iron pan. Its like med. rare and delicious.

Before Phil, I only had Prime Rib at 3 in the morning in Vegas for $7.99. Went to Lawry's once. Didn't care for it. No flavor and overpirced.
