• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

We got a couple of insurance rebate checks today and my lovely bride told me to go ahead and order a WSM. I've been trying to wangle a way to get one since the decision to do a cook off in October. Now Tim and I will have his StudaDera, the WSM, my horizontal, and the grill.

Anyway, the order went into Amazon tonight for the WSM, 2 new charcoal chimneys, and another rib rack. All with free delivery.

Whoo, boy! Life is good!

Oh yeah, we watched the BBQ competition shows on FootTV last night and Anne was complaining today about dreaming all night about setting up the presentation boxes!! :D

Great for you DF! With all the options, will you dedicate the WSM to one meat, say brisket or butt during your competition cook?

Let's see, Studadera doing the brisket, WSM doing the butt, horizontal doing the ribs and the grill doing chicken-offset or for finishing. By golly I think you've got it covered!!

Take your turkey fryer with you and use it to light your chimneys with.
KC had us in hot coals in about 10 minutes using that technique, and it was wonderful!

The wives will do good on the presentation boxes, just show them as many pictures ahead of time that you can so they get an idea before hand. Planning really helps.

Excellent, Dave! You are going to love it. Get in some practice with her before the competition. I know you will.

Bro Kick-
We actually have two turkey fryers going to Mulberry. One for lighting charcoal and one to keep hot water ready for sanitatiion.
Mulberry is FBS- no "judging of your lettuce". Meat only in boxes. Love it!
Wives and adult kiddos are gonna help keep DF and me focused on the Que!
StudeDera is 100% wood burner, so DF will put in her the meats that he feels will benefit from pure wood smoke the best.
His call.
I just be the "Pit Bitch" and can do what the "Pit Master" wants!
I am looking forward to "expanding my horizons" with the WSM and all!
Sink or swim--? If we fail, it is not because we did not try!
StudeDera Mods have taken on a whole new priority--gonna have her done by the 15th (promise to myself).

Gonna be fun!
Thanks
TIM
OH Yeah--Trailer is gonna be really full now!!!!! LOVE IT!

Tim pretty much covered it! I'll definately have several sessions with the WSM over the next two months!! :D

Since Tim has all that lovely oak we'll be using that to slam dunk our brisket and maybe the pork -- and he's working hard on some turbo-mods for the StudaDera! :D

Since Anne and I are going to the judges training and get to judge a cook off before our October debut we should get a pretty good idea about what the sanctioned judges look for!!

It's going to be fun!
