Lone Star Grillz, Shirley Fabrication, Gator Pits ($$$) those were the three I considered before buying my shirley.

Klose, Gator Pit and LSG are excellent pits - They are from Texas so shipping may add up. Meadow creek is only a few steps away so the money you save on shipping you can add to accessories. But if you want a once in a lifetime build with a builder willing to talk to you each step of the way I would highly highly highly highly recommend Shirley Fabrication.

I was considering between Shirley and LSG, chatted with Sako (ssv3) about the LSG vertical and in the end he recommended to get what I want. I have been emailing back and forth with Paul the last 2-3 weeks and he has been answering all of my questions given his super busy schedule with his regular day job at the refinery before getting home to smoker builds.

Just give each of the builders a call and see what you can get. But again I highly recommend you give Paul and Tyler a call.

All of the big name smokers are good, butt they also have a big price tag. My smoker was built by Craig Bell at Bell Fab. Craig builds a one off smoker to your exact specifications and personal needs and wants. His material and fabrication is first class and his pricing is very reasonable. I have had mine for a year and a half and I love it.

Lots of good smokers out there.But if I were buying a new one right now my first pick would be a Shirley Fab.,second would be A Lang.

Go to youtube and look at Shirley Fab. They take great pride in their work. Just look at the welds. They are perfect. On their cabinet doors on the offsets they use gaskets for a tight seal.

If you want an offset that is not reverse flow and you have a facebook account, look at Victory Smokers. Great quality without the nose pain!

Check out Horizon, LifeTyme, and Old Country also. They use really good materials, don't go to the wall with the appearance stuff, so their cost stays lower than the ones mentioned above. Shipping to you will add some cost also, as others have said. All 3 build very good quality smokers that will last forever.
