• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Going into Manhattan Saturday for a comedy show. Going to dinner at either RUB, Blue Smoke or Hill Country. Just the wife and I. Which one should we choose? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hill Country from everything I have read. I gotta get down there and try it myself very soon.

wow.. tuff call.

between those , I'd say RUB Only becase you dont have Daisy Mays in the mix.

Honestly, RUB has a nicer restaurant area so the wife may apprecite it. And Andrew always takes good care... and we know you wont be disappointed about the food. (gotta get them porkbellies)

on edit..

sorry, didn see hill country in the choices.. I'd give that place a shot. Havent been there, but all I've read has been positive too. May as well!

and then let us all know. :)

Is your wife up for a "tasting" course before/after the show?

It would be kinda neat to hit all three of them, order small, and then give us a comparison of what you liked the best.

Have fun!

From what I remember, Blue Smoke was a little "nicer" place. The food at RUB and BS are excellent.

I miss NYC!!

Which comedy club are you going to. If it's Gotham, the place is right next door to RUB.

We're going to see Artie Lange at Caroline's (Broadway between 49th and 50th)

Thanks for all the replies. I think we are going to go to RUB, then grab some take out from Hill Country to bring home (I'll probably eat it on the train, the fat farker I am!)

Ted,

If you are fat then I am the farking Goodyear Blimp!

Ted, I was with Robbie this afternoon at Hill Country sampling some stuff, it is worth the visit, there is no better brisket or beef ribs around !! you can not go wrong with any of them , however, unless you have a reservation blue smoke will be 1-2 wait after 6:00 PM, just my 2 cents

I'm a little spoiled being smack in the middle of Rub and Hill Country every day of the week, but for a relaxed sitdown meal i'd say....rub. They'll treatr you right and the food is always nice.

As for Hill Country, they have created something amazing over there that deserves your full attention so save it for a night when you dont have to rush off to a show.
