• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Not great with introductions . . . . .

Greetings all,

I'm not very good with these introductions, but at the mention of several people, I thought I better do this. Honestly, I am here after a thread that started on the Cookshack Pellet Forum. I don't need to say any more about it, you all surely know what I'm talking about. I wanted to see for myself that there was a "misquote" as the explanation went. To date, honestly I've seen no aversion to pellet heads. Quite the opposite actually.

My wife and I compete in approximately 20 contests each year. We have cooked from Brainard, MN to Lakeland, Fl, and from Philadelphia to Las Vegas. We have had our share of luck on the competition barbecue trail. I am proud to say that we have met some awesome people cooking contests and call many of them dear friends. Barbecue folks as a whole, are a great group. You could not asking for a nicer, more helpful group of people.

Since joining this group, I have had the privilege of meeting a couple of your members. Chick-N-Pig (Skip) and SolidKick (Gary) were both at Glasgow, MO this past weekend. Great guys. It was an honor to meet them both.

I will probably read more than I post, although when I am more comfortable, I'm sure I'll jump in. I look forward to meeting more of you at contests soon!

Pellet Envy

Welcome aboard Rod.
Your reputation preceeds you, and that is a good thing.
Feel free to chime in when you feel the need.
We would love to have your input.

LAWD HAVE MERCY--those Geer pits are as fine as they come.
Fit and finish unmatched by any that I have seen.
Chad and I drooled over a couple at Mobile last March.
Picky owners made us wipe it up

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.

Glad to see you made it! Welcome! And while we may not experience any pellet envy, that pit sure inspires some pit envy!

Welcome, Rod! Nice pit! It looks too shiny, however... It needs some pork fat! I'm on the CS forum as Ron_L (doh!)

Welcome Brother Pellethead!! Great to have you here Rod. That is one awesome looking arsenal you have there. The advice and opinions of someone with your creditials are always a welcome addition, especially from someone from KC  :D

Rod Grey (sp and sorry if)

No need to talk about the CS forum tiff. A misunderstanding, a misquote by a reporter, or a mis interpretaion.....doesnt matter.

You are a giant figure in our hobby that is considered sport, and I/we welcome you.

Glad to see you on!!

BTW if you ever need me to clean the pit for you just let me know when I can pick it up I'll have it back it a year or two no charge.

Welcome to the fray! Didn't get to meet you at the BoCo fair but saw your setup. Glad to have you.

Welcome, and when you feel comfortable, please do share advice. I need it.

Rod, Welcome to the Backyard. Sorry for the delay, I'm just getting back from back to back comps and wasn't here to greet you at the door but as usual, the bros here have me covered. So welcome! Grab a beer and join on in.

Welcome to the new brother. Let me chime in with another "NICE PIT."

Thank you all for welcoming me here. Looks like a good group of folks. Phil, I forgot that we'd met at the Jack last year. That pic of you preparing the prime rib reminded me.
