• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

From the Klose site:

Those that are familiar with North Main BBQ, EUless, TX and the Sweet Meat Cooking team - Eddie Kelsey, co-owner, passed this morning after battling lung cancer.

That's too bad. I spoke with him several times over the years, and he was always a pleasure to talk to. Nice enough to share the source for the sausage they use, and talk BBQ.

Is this the guy that started cooking at his trucking company and it blossomed into a BBQ joint?

Hear alot about the place, but never been there.

We'll do another get together there. It's just North of 183 (about a block) on Main St. They have the jiant armadillo smoker. Only open Fri-Sun. All you can eat.

The IBCA meetings are held at that location each month. I never got a chance to meet the man. I am sure he will be missed.

I just sent my nephew over there Saturday evening. He picked up a buddy at DFW. They wanted some good Q before heading back to Altus OK. Small world, Sad news.

I work out at DFW and was just telling my co-workers about his passing. A few have eaten and enjoyed their product. Will this have any affect on the day to day operation of the restaurant?

Their big event every year is in Reno for Ribfest.
Saw them on the food network at Reno last year.

"The owners of the North Main Barbecue in Euless, Texas, who compete as the Sweet Meat Cooking Team and sport a large grill shaped like an armadillo, haven't missed the event since winning the inaugural title in 1989."

Real sorry to hear this. Have only been to North Main that one time for our get-together. Would definitely like to do another mini-bash there.
