• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Just a quick question for all you Blackstone owners. I recently received the black Blackstone griddle for Christmas and I was wondering if non-stick cooking spray such as PAM or any other brand can be used on the griddle or would it gunk it up like those sprays do to most non-stick pans. Only reason I am asking is that I try to be a little healthier for week night meals and try to cut back on how much fat I use while cooking. My instinct says it would be ok because unlike a pan with a nonstick surface, I can scrape the Blackstone to clean it. Thanks everyone!

In my experience, you won't need it. After proper seasoning, the griddle has a great non-stick surface. You will need to oil it lightly after cleaning between uses (which I personally would not use PAM for), so I don't see a need to use it.

You could, I use Pam as a starter oil to start the paper in my chimney starter.

I have used Pam a lot on my griddle and no issues. I apply Pam after cleaning it also as my oil.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. Can't wait to use this thing more. How does it perform in cold weather because the real winter weather is finally here.

I have had mine out in pretty cold elements while camping. It works ok depending on the wind. When I had no wind it worked fine. I put deflectors up to block the burners from wind.
