Non remote external temp probes...

Trying to get a positive answer on remote temp probes seems impossible. It seems to be like a love/hate relationship, there is no happy medium. Sooooo….. I will ask this, what is a good "non remote" multiple temp probe? One that has 2 to 3 probes??? Really trying to get a good one but don’t want to keep buying them over and over. Going outside @ -20 in the winter to check temps is not the worst thing to me. PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks!

I believe Maverick makes a multiple probe model that does not have a remote. I would stay away from Polder whatever you do.

I don't know about their other products but I have a thermapen from thermoworks (http://www.thermoworks.com/) and couldn't be happier with it. Granted this is for instant read, but they're other products should be up to spec.

The Mavericks are ok, but I say go with Thermo Works, they make the Thermapen and everybody uses them. The accuracy is within 1.8 degrees for this one, and it is relatively cheap.

That's a good little therm. It isn't preprogrammed so you can use at higher temps like brisket and butts.

we use the guru for that you can do 4 meats at one time and i hear someone is making a new one that will do 6 meats at one time and can be programed to give a diffarant alarm sound for each differant meat when i hear more i will post it

That looks like a rebranded polder, or the other way around. Not bad for $20, but I've gone through a ton of those, the probe on them usually starts giving wacky results. The probes for the Maverick have much better insulation. I personally prefer the Nu-Temp offerings, but they're wireless.
