Nice weather to be "Qing" tonight!

It is a really nice night to be BBQing in South Alabama tonight!
Its 58 degrees out there! Has not been this cool in 7 months!

Got 14 Butts on for an all night cook. Told the teachers at the high school if they had 100% to join the PTO we would feed them!

They took us up and here we are! Got 105 to feed tomorrow at lunch.

Anybody else up cooking?

Cannot believe nobody else is up cooking tonight. Just me and the dog I guess!

Now THAT's my kind of weather! But then I've been known to shovel snow during the winter in shorts and a T-shirt ... OK, sneakers too!

I'd rather be cooking, but heading off to work in a half hour.

Well It seems to have bottomed out at 52. Damn chilly for a South Alabama Boy!
Just wrapped the butts in foil. Give them about 3 more hours at 205 degrees and they will "give it up" an pull like a charm!

You are correct, PTO is parent teacher organization. Same as PTA we just don't pay any national dues.

It was a wonderful might for cooking. Clear, chilly, no wind, quiet. Just me and my BBQ dog. She is a 100 lb. overweight LAB that loves to cook as much as I do. She really likes it when I am pulling the pork! A lot of the scraps go to her. Maybe thats why she weighs 100 lbs. Thats OK, she has had 9 wonderful BBQing years so far.

I sure hope there are dogs and smokers in heaven.

Actually it does mean power take off. I was working on my 61' Massy 35 Delux this afternoon before I started the BBQ. Damn thing is almost as old as I am and still runs pretty good.
Will be time to plant deer patches in a week or two!
But that discussion would take another thread!

39 here this morning. Just pulled the turkey's (2) off the pit. Butts (30) and brisket (24) still on. Maybe another 2 hours to go. 48 butts to cook tonight.

Used to seeing PTA, and mental lock engaged on PTO = "Paid Time Off" wchihc everyone is always willing to join in on! :wink:
