• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

New Tree Turd Pusher

Appreciated the reread of your thread.

Old controller. Hey, you take what you can get when you save over a grand.

There is nothing in the world wrong with the older controller!
Many "walks" and a ton of winning BBQ are being produced from them.

Todd, Was enrolled for the Fec 100 class last December at Cookshack.
Then daughter announces a wedding in Feb of this year.
Kick to the teeth as I have a step-son who lives in Monet Missouri. Gonna make a trip to see him.....then on to C.Shack.
I did have the funds to p/u one of the fe 100s from the class at a reduced price. Well the deck of cards dealt me a huge Stop Sign.

Would still love to own one as well.

Congrats on your great find.

Brought my new baby home tonight. I'm happier than a tornado in a trailer park.

Manufacture date on is 3-26-06. It is so clean on the outside, you'd think it was just unwrapped for the first time. The inside needs a simple, general cleaning. What a steal... and I get to cook on it tomorrow night for a non-sanctioned competition.

hahaha, true true, with what I put in my truck I could have had one of those, a spicewine and god knows what else!

For you FEC-100 owners, I have a few questions.

What kind of temp differences can I experience from bottom rack to top?
Which rack do you cook your Butts & Briskets versus ribs and chicken?
Should I add an elbow and stack to the 4" side Exhaust?

Sure wish I would have paid more attention specifically to how Rod Gray cooked on his FEC's.

I can't answer your questions, but I just wanted to pile on and say "nice score."

Top 3 racks are reletively even. Bottom rack is quite hotter--I usually cook chicken, Japs, Fatties there. Can't give exact numbers because I lost my fascination with exact temp differences a while back

I added JUST an elbow (5 inch and was hard to find), I point it up to keep wind from blowing into the smoke box. If I ever just had to smoke in the rain, I would angle it down just a bit to keep rain and wind out. Kevin(HomeBBQ) has a classy vertical exhaust on his.

Great cooker.
