• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Did my every other year grill cleaning last month, after a farking bird tried to set up a nest in the gasser and there was chit all over the place.

Tossed the lava rocks.

Was reading a thread on lava rocks and Chad mentioned he replaced his rocks one time with some sort of grate, and never needed replacement again.

Light Bulb Mod

That would solve my hot spot issues (for the most part) as the cast aluminum would heat faster, and maintain heat more evenly than rocks.

Once I got them, I burned the first round of simple burgers. These grates are going to make me relearn the gasser. Made shish kabobs with my nice new grates (not really new now after 2 weeks). Used Spiede's marinade on the chicken kabobs. Good stuff.

This was a great investment. Comes in a set of 2 to fit nearly any grill. The entire thing become one big flavorizer bar.

Thanks for mentioning Chad. You saved me from buying rocks, and improved the finished product

Wonder if they would even out the heat in a smoker?

Source? My Mom has the same grill you do Bill. I usually grill some chicken for her when I'm down there and Foodsaver a lot of it to make cooking a little less of a chore for her. The grill is due for some work so I might as well do everything at once.

I had a gasser a few years ago........went out to do the first burn of the season, did not open the lid, few minutes later...lots of smoke, horrible smell......field mice had made a home in there.......gasser went to the landfill!!!!!!!

I got sick of replacing both the rocks, and that triangle flavoriver bar that rust out in a year

I hate paying these prices, but this place seems to be the only carrier:

I used 4 Weber Ceramic Briquettes on top of my new burner to "stabalize" the middle Jorge. I have about 40 of these briquettes in the box, so send me your address if you want me to send you a few if you decide on these grates. They come in a set of 2, which you can size down.

Mista, they might be too "holey" as a tuning plate, but I don't own a horizontal. Check the link for measurements to see if it might apply

There is still a box of the stones in the garage. Dad planned ahead mod:grin:

Thanks for the link Bill, appreciate it:grin:

No problem Jorge

My other new toy since Fathers Day has been the cast iron smoke box for wood chips.

Damn if them Jack Daniels chips soaked on water don't work great in the grill.

Racer would love the flavor

That would assume I consider urine to be a flavor, and I don't plan on finding that out.

Jorge - what was that address again? I missed it.
