Did my every other year grill cleaning last month, after a farking bird tried to set up a nest in the gasser and there was chit all over the place.
Tossed the lava rocks.
Was reading a thread on lava rocks and Chad mentioned he replaced his rocks one time with some sort of grate, and never needed replacement again.
Light Bulb Mod
That would solve my hot spot issues (for the most part) as the cast aluminum would heat faster, and maintain heat more evenly than rocks.
Once I got them, I burned the first round of simple burgers. These grates are going to make me relearn the gasser. Made shish kabobs with my nice new grates (not really new now after 2 weeks). Used Spiede's marinade on the chicken kabobs. Good stuff.
This was a great investment. Comes in a set of 2 to fit nearly any grill. The entire thing become one big flavorizer bar.
Thanks for mentioning Chad. You saved me from buying rocks, and improved the finished product
