• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hello all.

I am from the Thumb Area of Michigan and have been Qing for a number of years. I have gotten more serious about it in the last 5 yrs.
I only Q for friends and family but have thought about doing a couple comps, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
I started out with a Brinkman Smoking Pit Pro a few years back and got my feet wet. Even though I got very little sleep during overnighters I realized how enjoyable it was and the compliments I got kept me going and refining.
After a few years I realized those overnighters tending the pit was getting to me. I couldn't enjoy the party the next day after getting very little sleep.
I now have 2 WSM's and absolutely love them. I could finally get a reasonable amount of sleep but would still get up every couple hours just to make sure everything was going according to plan. I have had these now for about 4 yrs.
This Spring I decided to get a Stoker for the WSM's and haven't looked back. Now I just get things going and go to bed knowing if something go wrong it will let me know.
Needless to say I now Q whenever the urge hits me, which seems to be quite often. In fact I am getting ready to start a couple Butts in the next couple hours.
I have done multiple Butts and Briskets through the years along with Chuck Rolls, Turkeys, Chickens, Rib Roasts, ABT's, Fatties, Baked Beans, Smoked Macaroni and Cheese, among others.
My favorite and most requested from family and friends is Brisket. It don't get any better than that.
I am also a member of other bbq forums I can always manage to learn something from others which in turn has made my Q better through the years. There is alway room for improvement.
I hope to learn from all of you here and hope I may be able to help at times with others questions.

Welcome Brother, enjoy the forum.

RHill, I love my WSMs too.
Welcome to the best clubhouse on the web!
