I typicality do not ever work much with pipe. I scored a couple of pieces of 1/2 wall 24" dia. from one of my vendors. I needed a little more rack space than the 24" dia would allow so I decided to go with front load cabinet doors. That gave me 3 larger racks that measure 26"x48" with 6" clear between racks. Firebox will be double wall 1/4 carbon steel with 3" of insulation. In the bottom of the cook chamber, I built a water reservoir that will hold about 7-10 gallons of water. I'm down here on the bayou in south Louisiana and I do a lot of fish and other seafood's. I personally do not like to cook with water when doing your typically BBQ, but I found that when doing seafood, its very helpful. Going to put a 2" ball-valve to make the water & grease clean-out easy. I think I'm going to go with 14" golf-cart wheels to make moving this girl around. She will tip the scales at about 1,600 lbs when complete. I will try and update and I progress. As always, comments, criticism and suggestions are most welcome. She is also going to need a name?

Be careful over insulating FB. Will trap a lot of heat and make keeping temp down hard. I am fighting this. Id go with 2” and increase fb/CC opening to 125/150% of calc recommendation

This man ^^^ knows what he's talking about.

Your project is looking awesome and should be a beast of a cooker. A lot of meat rack space there.

Keep us posted on progress. :thumb:

Depending on where FB is mounted you may want to look at new wall design frank cox has. Works really well on low mounted FB and even temps across grate. If you need to mount higher cut opening right at grate level. Extend few inches above and below and stack will pull straight across

Wow. You have great toys and the skills to use them! I haven't welded since metal shop in high school.

Your builds are always interesting. Thanks for posting BadgerJacob.
