• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I thought there might be some improvements to intake/exhaust, but it just looks like a bigger cooker. Tried to do an image link, but it shows up as a blank post.

Interesting, doesn’t look like a standard 55 gal drum? Looks wider and shorter than one but could just be me. Wonder where it’ll come in compared to a Gateway or Hunsaker.

Thanks for posting. Not sure if there are any other porcelain enamel coated 55 gallon drum smokers out there.

You would think they would have made it taller. The main problem I have with mine is not tall enough to hang most briskets. I have to hang them horizontally.

Any price info?

Noah mentioned in a BBQ Podcast a few months ago that it was similar to a 55 gallon size and at a $499 price point. Some new seasonings are coming out, a steak rub and southern rub. He also said the Pit Barrel Cooker will get some new accessories, one of them being wheels to make it mobile. This is a big one for me as it’s something I always thought this cooker was lacking.

Finally he said at some point in the future we would see a stainless steel pit barrel cooker.

That's great info right there! Thank you very much. With the price of steel these days I wouldn't be surprised if it's a little bit more than $499.

You’re welcome Bob. I believe the interview was in late 2020 so it wouldn’t surprise me if we see $549 as a price considering how inflation is on the rise. I like both of their current rubs, willing to give the new ones a shot when they come out. I’m curious to see what a final SS model looks like and at what price. But I must say I’m happy with my PBC in its enamel coating, I bought mine when they were still made in the USA. Not to mention now I’ve got the MAK 1. I don’t think I’ll be seeing another cooker in my foreseeable future.

499 is my limit for the PBX. It just looks like a normal one with an extra bar. Also the stainless steel cookers, and ones with wheels, was he talking about all sizes of cookers, or only the PBX?

He didn’t mention sizes for the SS version. My guess would be the regular size and see how it sells first. In terms of accessories I’m guessing they will be for all sizes as they have done up until now. I’m definitely interested in the new rubs and wheels.

I might be interested in a SS version. I already have a 30 gallon drum dolly so I have the mobility aspect already down.

I'm not too interested in the X model as I never fill up the standard one and I also have a Jr.

Same here. Regular PBC seems to do the trick. But I sure do like the mobility of the PBJ.
