Hey everyone, just spent a couple days building this thing. It's been a fun project other than the sanding but even that wasn't that bad, nor did it take too long.
Few things I'd do differently are getting the drum sandblasted, because once is enough. That's about it actually! Still have some more stuff to add to it like two brackets and a wooden side table, some 3" or so legs, a hook under the lid, a bottle opener and an ash catcher. Anyway, just finished painting it this morning with Krylon bbq paint (which I can't say enough positive about). I painted it last night with Rustoleum ultra high heat flat black paint but thought it looked terrible and it seemed it would be hard to clean. Also I ran out before being able to do a second coat and the metal was shining through in some spots. Bought the Krylon this morning and man does that ever apply easily, evenly and it looks AWESOME compared to the more expensive Rustoleum.
So here it is! Just seasoning it now on low temp, helping the paint fully cure!
