New Member just checking out the Welcome Forum

Just read the sticky about how many posts you have and what icon shows under your name and just had to laugh about 0 posts and the guy with a lighter and Matchlite! LOL

My son and I just finished a UDS, came out great, we love it, but a funny thing happened on our first seasoning and smoke!!! LOL
My wife said she would bring home some charcoal for us which she did and my son and I proceeded to get er' going and learn about this drum smoker stuff.
WELL, neither of us checked out the bag of coal she bought and things just didn't seem right. Flames were kind of big in the chimney and also when I dumped into the basket... That smokey smell wasn't as strong as we were use to from our simple Charbroil Walmart smoker either.
We cooked some chicken on it and I thought the flavor was off a little but when the wife got home and tasted it she was like " Egh!" that's discusting!
hahahahahhaha I said "what now!" lol Let me see...

I opened the container in the fridge and sure enough it stunk like lighter fluid! OMG! She bought matchlite!!!! hahahahahah
Didn't even look!

That was funny as hell and I'll never make that mistake again!

Love the site, been here lurking a few times, can't wait to learn more!

Thanks Kev, We're really enjoying it. Lot better than the Charbroil which takes constant attention!
