• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hello everyone. New member here from Canada. Love to BBQ for the family and friends and always trying to learn from others. I have a gas bbq & outdoor pizza oven.

Original idea of joining the Brethren was to get some ideas for my latest project. I have a very thick steel cone shaped firepit in my backyard. It is 4 feet across. I refer to it as my 'recycling bin' and it's great for hot dog and marshmellow roasts.

My 'idea' is I would like the ability to turn this into a smoker or utilize it in another way. So idea is for some sort of contraption that can be moved on top of it, and subsequently removed. Don't know if it actually is even possible but thought I would put it out there.

I'm all ears for ideas.

Anyway looking forward to being an active member.

Manchild

Welcome to the forum!
I use something similar... I place my tractor rim and grate over the pit for height then slow cook or direct grill on it. Good luck with what ever you come up with!

Thanks Cowgirl. Went to your blog and saw the pictures. I like your set up.

Thanks Manchild. I've gotten a lot of use out of it.
