New kettle bummer

Just assembled a new Webber kettle that my mom order for my dad for Father's Day. She had it shipped to my house. Figured I would go ahead and assemble it and do a burn to coat over all the shinny metal inside the lid. Got a pork butt ready to inject and rub to take over tonight so he can start it in the am. I am excited because he has been without a charcoal grill for years. Since he retired that is all he talks about wanting a charcoal grill again. Got it all put together just to notice a big dent in the lid lip with the paint all cracked

Weber is great, they will replace it and you will have the damaged lid for the UDS you'll soon be building for your Dad... It's a win - win situation...

Yup, just call weber, they'll send a new one and most likely won't even ask for the damaged one, so you can probably bend it back out and make it work until the new lid comes.

Weber is awesome. One call and the new lid is on the way. And yes they do not want the old one. Bent it out for my dad to smoke tomorrow. Paint busted up, but it will work. All I will have to do for my future UDS is order a term I bezel and a thermo or just seal over the holes since I use an igrill2. Maybe those two will hold me off until I get me a Shirley. Looks like they are into March from a recent post. Got to get my deposit in soon thanks everyone for the help to get my dads grill situated.
