• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. Not new to smoking but just built my first UDS and couldn't be happier.

Welded her all together with adjustable shelves and everything. Added an old rotesseri I had laying around. Turned out really well.

Smoked a butt last weekend and it held 250 most of the 6 hours on lump with pecan and apple.

Making deer summer sausage this weekend and will use her again...wish me luck.

Welcome! Nice UDS, but what took a bite out of your butt?

Welocme to the asylum!

I wish I could come up with a better excuse but that was me that couldn't/wouidn't keep his mits off the rump.

thanks for the comments...I'm thinking about adding a pig style air tank plumbed into the ball valve opening. It will be charged with 150 psi and can be opened ever so slightly to introduce a steady stream of air to the bottom of the UDS...I would use this to increase temps when/if needed after a coal basket shake...I'll let you know how it goes this weekend.

I need to figure out how long a 5 gal tank simply bleeding off pressure would last and if it would even make a difference...we'll see...I love to tinker.

Welcome from a fellow St. Louisan. Very nice smoker. Is that Cardinal red?
