• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Need some info.

We got this given to us.

I thought " hey I can make this " but what percentage of each do I start with.

I will eventually be making a his and hers.

I like more pepper and she likes more salt.

Sooooo, where do I start?

It's kind of hard to get the ingredients wrong, since there are no "spices".

What wood are you going to use to smoke the Ksalt?
Other than the smoked salt, I don't see where it isn't like making your own dry rub, that is if you make your own dry rub.

I was thinking a stronger type wood. Pecan, oak maybe.

I was just wondering where to start with each.

Kind of weird calcs. They list a serving as 1.5g/1500mg. Salt has 413mg sodium/g and the sodium is listed at 260mg/serving. So 260/413=0.63g per (1.5g)serving. That's 42% salt by weight. Since garlic is listed first, it must be at least 43% of the weight, leaving only 15% pepper by weight. Doesn't seem like enough, but maybe it's heavy on garlic and light on pepper? Am I figuring this right or is my math the new fuzzy common core stuff?

With the exception of the smoke If you can get close to SPG you'll be golden. I'm sold on this stuff..hook line and sinker. I was lucky enough to get a great deal on their gallon jug.
