• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

My husband works Sunday thru Wednesday every week. So he will be working on Father's Day and so will about a dozen other people in his office. I always take them a big meal any time they work on a special day so just a couple weeks ago I brought them ribs, sausages, and pulled pork plus Mac and cheese and a bean salad.
I need ideas for what to do next Sunday. They are all meat eaters and very appreciative. And my husband is no help-he always says "chef's choice!"
Who has some ideas of something maybe a little different that I make for them?
Thanks for any ideas.

If they liked it, I'd do it again. There's nothing wrong with this menu.

You guys are great!!
Matt: I like the fajitas idea. I could do both beef and chicken.
Pat: hmmm...not sure I can afford prime rib for a dozen people but maybe I can do that as a special dinner for a smaller group.
Dadsr4 and Ron: tried and true are always good and maybe wanting new ideas is more about me than them!
Anyone else have some ideas???

Pepper Stout Beef, Pepper Jack Cheeze, Horse Radish and Buns for Sandwiches. Sides, Cajun Redskin Potatoes (quarter the potatoes steam them, mash add EVOO salt and Red Pepper Flake or Cayenne Pepper to taste) and Salad.

That was going to be my second suggestion.

One thing I'll say about men, is they have no qualms about eating the same thing over and over again. Ribs, sausage, pulled pork? Yeah, I'd eat that every day of the week and every day of the week would be special! Your husband is awfully lucky to have found a lady like yourself to do that for the guys! Everyone is different, but for me, ribs and steak can't be beat. Prime Rib as suggested by Pat? That's extra special, easy to make and fool-proof and can transport well as it needs to rest anyway.

That sounds great. Exactly why I knew to throw this out to the forum.

Prime Rib was my first thought too- easy and always appreciated.
Pepper Stout beef is a great option too - just make plenty - it will go fast.
Add Italian Beef to your list sometime too - very good!

What a wonderful wife you are! I am sure he will love whatever you decide to serve!

I just did a bone in pork loin roast. Was only 1.99 per pound.Worth checking the price where you are. Makes a good presentation.

Another vote for pepper stout beef! Shoot, any of the above mentioned meals sound great.

Very nice gesture indeed. All these ideas are great. I truly don't think you can go wrong. We men are easy - and thankful for this kind of thing. I'll throw out cheesy jalapeno cornbread as a side, cause I personally love the stuff, and especially for this kind of thing. Make your normal cornbread, add cheddar, fresh chopped jalapenos, onions, and canned creamed corn . . . grandma's recipe and it just don't get old. Along with anything - pork butt, pulled chuck roast, potato buns. Good luck and have fun with it.

My guess anything you do will be great and appreciated, do what you know they like and add some "Party Wings" say 5 or 6 dozen.

Pepper Stout Beef or Pepper Porter Beef. Switch up the beer, but make sure it's flavorful. NO LITE! Or Tri Tip if you can get it in your area.

Pork loin, wings, and pepper stout beef are all great ideas. And the cheesy jalapeno cornbread will definitely make an appearance next week.
It's only 7am here and I am already hungry! Thank you to everyone.

Prime rib was the first thing that came to mind. But I like to age it and there is not time... Pepper stout beef is also a great choice. Pulled pork too.

The only thing I suggest is to go with something you have made before. I have learned not to try new things with 'company.'

I also really like the way brats taste coming of the smoker with some hickory. You could reheat them in beer and that might be easier to transport.
