• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Who do you buy your supplies from? I ordered from Sausage Maker, but have received extremely poor service. There has to be a better sausage supply house. Thanks for recommendations.

What are you needing to get? Most stuff comes from local stores for me. Hog casings can sometimes be hard to come by for folks, but those can be found online. Though Academy Sports and Gander have them around me. After that all spices and meat come from Restaurant Depot and if I didn't have that I would hit up Costco or Sams.

I should have been more specific. Hog casings, #1 and #2 cure are not available locally. I have spices and all of the equipment. Thanks.

Butcher and Packer. Awesome fast service. Shipping is a little pricey, but it's flat fee, so get everything you need in one order.

Absolutely agree with Shaggy. Butcher-packer.com is the only place I need. Professional, VERY good prices (cure #1/#2 is like $3.25 per pound!!), and very fresh ingredients. Best game out there, period.

I have seen pink salt at Academy. Get my casings at a local butcher supply. I have ordered from Sausage Maker with no issues, sorry you had a bad experience.

I use The Sausage Maker all the time and never experienced a problem. There are a multitude of suppliers Like Butcher and Packer on the internet if need be. As others have indicated, Amazon carries almost everything under the sun.

The only other place I have ordered from was directly from Weston and LEM as my friend has an outfitters store, and I can order at wholesale cost to help build his orders.

Butcher Packer is not too far from my work so I go visit them once in a while on my lunch

great people, very helpful.

I would order from them in a heartbeat if I was not so close to them

Sausage supplies

I agree with Mikemci, I have bought sausage supplies from the same local market as him. They have casings but you need to ask. They don't keep them out on display. I have moved to Tomball, TX and I found a local small meat market with all the sausage making supplies I need.

I agree with Syracuse Casing and Butcher & Packer recommendations.......

You're in Texas mate! :biggrin1:......I guarantee you there are casings available locally. Last time I was making sausage I was short on casings and I didn't want to use collagen, so I went to a local butcher shop who makes their own brats (normally in collagen) and asked for natural hog casings. He came out with a tub of them.....Yeah, they were expensive, but the they worked in a pinch. In today's age, I gotta think there is a local artisan meat place fairly close to you.

Good Luck!

The closest meat market to me is one hour away. I live in the sticks, man, the sticks.

I use askthemeatman.com service is always fast. Their prices include shipping. Sausage maker shipping prices make me not use them.

As others have said, check with your local butcher. I get pink curing salt from mine for $1-2/lb. I bought 5lb and a whole pork belly for less than $40 out the door.

Haven't checked with him on casings yet. I have a bunch from sausage maker and cabelas left.

Just a thought. I buy a lot of stuff from my butcher and he hooks me up with a great price on bellies and cure.

Even an hour drive isn't bad every 1-2 months. Plus you can load up on meat too
