• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Anyone down in SoCal have a log splitter that'll handle 22" logs that would be kind enough to let me split some wood? I'm in the market for a splitter, but funds are being diverted elsewhere right now.

Wish I could help...been buying mine already split. Wish I had one myself... but then again somebody got drunk at the beach and was running the chainsaw with no oil in it. Dont run long that way...

You might try Big Brother Smoke if it's worth a trip to Ventura...

How much wood and what diameter? I have a chain saw that you could cut your 22" pieces into 11" pieces. An ax (which I also have) will then split that no problem. I also have what I think is called a 'grenade' and a sledge hammer which will also greatly aid in the process. I can also help you - for a beer and a few wood splits.

Much appreciated, but I have access to all the same tools. I'm trying to take the easy way out!

Sory Bro. Idon't have a splitter but if I did I would be glad to lend it to you.

Sounds like you need to make a road trip to Ventura. Grab some socal brothers and we can make it a log splitting party and put some meat in the smoker, etc.

I've got a Chevy 2500 with an 8-foot bed...she'll haul a bit of wood. Sounds like a good reason for a ROAD TRIP! Pasa-downer...you're semi on my way Bentley.

I would be interested in that trip, I would also like to buy some wood off you guys. bbq's galore is a rip off:-D

John, you are too close to this place too be getting ripped off. I stopped by there yesterday and got 6 bags of apple splits on the way back from fishing.

i.e. 40lb. bag of apple splits runs $19:biggrin:

Thats the place that I get my wood delivered from! They charge me 349 a half cord for almond/oak and 379 for a half cord for pecan/oak. Pretty spendy. Of course thats plus tax and stacking is extra. I started using them because I trust that they wont mix in any crazy wood from the local area and they deliver to restraunts around here..... but man, that price is a killer! I like the 40lb of apple splits for 19 bones though.

How was fishing??

You might also check out Sepulveda Building Supply. I'm getting 1/16 cords of Oak for $33.

Thanks! I may have hit paydirt at the bar the other night. Some old dude sittin at the end of the bar was wearing a tree trimming hat so I hit him up. Said he would sell me oak for 160 a cord. Gonna check him out and see whats up.
