• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Brethren,

Does anyone know a good offset for less than 1500 that has about 12sq feet of cooking surface? Ideally would be able to smoke a pig if needed.

It's not an offset...

But it is the next pit we are buying. If you take out the center baffel it can cook a whole hog, nice thing about it it can cook on two different temps with two different woods, which is exactly what we need at competitions. Like I said, I know it's not an offset, but thought you might like some different options...little higher than you wanted to go, about $1800, but like I said it is our next pit!

Set it and forget it baby!

The PCC pits look like a really good option for folks in the midwest. I hear nothing but good things and they seem really custom-mod friendly.

I know someone in Dayton that might be able to build you one, if you want to look into that.

I might be up for that. Has he done them before? I'd love to check out any pics. It would depend on the cost and the size. I'm dangerously close to just upgrading my spicewine to a larger unit, but I'll wait until tomorrow for that decision.

He made our prototype, which is an offset with a big box. I think he can do it for a good price, but it won't be a Spicewine.

I'm getting really close to purchasing this exact model from PCC. So far great people to deal with.

Bob, I'll talk to him this weekend, and I'll see what he thinks. If he has time, I'm sure he'd love to do it, and I'll get you two in contact.

Thanks. I'm still looking and trying to figure out what would be the best option. Let me know. Everyone else thank you for your suggestions as well. It's a kunundrum that's for sure.
