Need explanation

Pellet smokers,
Does the controllers feed pellets at a constant rate and guru type fan control temp, Or does the controller feed pellets to control temp?

Mine works like this, has a fan that run's all the time, then has the auger that supplies the pellets at different rates, get's hotter when the pellets go in fast, per more pulse's of the auger controller, then slower pulse's for cooler temps, hopes this helps out.

My FEC uses a complex algorithm on the computer that controls both fan speed and pellet feed rates.
Holds +/- 2 degrees.
