• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Ray Roberts State Park Group Picnic Pavilion 2 (Isle du Bois Unit)
Group Pavilion 2
It is near the playground at the north end of the Day Use Area.

•Outdoor grill

•6 long picnic tables

•Electric and water

•Additional persons can use the adjacent picnic areas

I have already reserved and paid for the pavilion. This site has been used for the Bash before so most should be familiar with the location.

The link to the spreadsheet to sign up is below.
It auto saves and anyone can post to it.
Looking to see how may will be:

Attending
Guest Count (Bring a Lot, We had plenty of Food Last October)
If Cooking
If cooking items for Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
What Food / Supplies will you be bringing
Will you need to borrow space on a Cooker

So would it be OK to post something on the Q Forum to let others know about the BASH?

With only 9 (fixed it!) weeks or so to go, I want to be sure and give the Brethren plenty of time to plan. I can bring my deep fryer, 36" Blackstone and or the BGE MiniMAX Egg.
I may cook a butt here at the house and FTC over to the pavilion. Hopefully finish it off on somebody's stick burner.

Generally no, you're already doing the right thing by putting the info in your signature. No need to post to Q Talk, folks will see the thread.

They don't allow notice threads in Q Talk - only the Live Action thread Day of. ( of course there are usually "Practicing for the Bash" threads and "What should I cook...?" threads that pop up.......... )

I'm in for Brisket at 5:30 pm. And Pasta Salad. I can't get spreadsheet to work on phone- sign me up. Bringing smoker 2 guests.

Thanks, and I will.

We started doing chili cook offs this year. So with the BGE Eggfests, chili cook offs and the N Texas Bash we have a lot on out plate.
This should be a great time. And a good opertunity for folks in the N Texas area to come out and enjoy some great Q and good company with fellow Brethren.

Peeps we will be in your neck of the woods this weekend.
We are cooking in the chili cook off at Cabelas in Buda.

$160 round trip, about the same as last time.

Less that I paid for my kids Justin Bieber tickets for the following weekend.

Tempting....

I know somebody that will pick ya up at the airport . . .

That's my dad's neck of the woods, but more like my ankle

Good luck!!

I've got a list of folks in the area that I'll send a PM to when it gets closer to the date.

You should hit up the OK contingent. It's less than 3 hours from OKC to Lake Ray Roberts. I think it would be cool if we got some of them to start coming down for the NTX bash the same as folks came from all over for the central Texas one.

Have sent a few PMs north of the Red River in the past. Had somebody in Durant or Ardmore that was interested in a previous bash but had a schedule conflict.

Get On It.

Will do. Anything for the guy who got this whole bash thing finally going in Texas.

Just saw a great idea posted by Ron about using the Brethren map to see who to send PMs to.

https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=1411365

Yep... I used this to find new members in the Chicago area. I also go back to past bash threads to see who attended or couldn't attend but is in that area and then do a PM campaign, pointing them to the bash thread.

You can also post in the BBQ Brethren FB page, but remember that the page is public so you may get folks responding who are members of the FB page but not the forum. When I do the Chicago bashes I use the FB page but ask that anyone who wants to go also be a forum member. There were several who joined because of the January lunch.

Hotch, if you need help editing the first post in the thread just send me a PM.
