• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

The General Lee has victory in Charlottesville.
We named our spice wine the general lee cause it is the same color as the dukes of hazzard car .
Wow! I posted a pic of Justin. Justin is a 11 y/o boy with bone cancer. (www.caringbridge.com Click on visit and type in justinharris in the pass word. This will give you the whole story. His dad and I are cooking buddies. He named the spice wine the General lee.
It was a long fought battle. The smoker was supposed to go to Waynesboro but it went to richmond (I geuss that was poetic huh) Finally we got it. I took it back to waynesboro to put tie downs on the trailer. unloaded As we were fixing the trailer justin was outside with his oxygen aand sat there for two hours. He kept playing the Genral lee horn sound from the dukes of hazard. We haven't had that much fun in a long time.
After we got the cooker tied down I had to cook for 800 people the the next day.The battle was hard fought , the general lee was slow. we could not get up too temp. i had to finally drain most of the water. off. We ended up cooking over 600 pieces of chicken and heating up over 200 pds of pork. i wished i talked jay into putting a rack in the fire box it would have been great for quick warming the bbq..we used over 3 bags of charcoal. I know i did something wrong, but we got er done. I am a stick burner so I will need a little time to figure this thing out .We still love it .Oh I gave justin the shirt . he loved it.
Thanks Jay.

Jon, Im sure you will get the General Lee running as smooth and as hot as the the original one that Cooter kept purring. Thats for the link to CaringBridge and for all you do for Justin and his family. Tell him and his family that we have them in our prayers.

You, Sir, are a brave man!

Congratulations on the new Spicewine, the great name for it and for pulling off that first huge smoke.

I don't have a Spicewine but I will say that on my offset when I cook large quantities of meat I almost have to fill the thing up with charcoal and fully open all the vents to get it up to temp. That much meat just absorbs the heat so you really have to stoke it to get it hot. Sounds like you had a winner regardles though so good job!!!

Congrats of the Spicewine, the cook and you should be commended for your work and caring.

Jay,
Guy and I have two spicewines. We would be more than happy to help you with yours. If you are interested shoot us a PM.

Dont give up on that SW. I cooked this weekend and it took about an hour to get to temp, then it held dead on for the entire cook. I cant stress to anyone enough how much we like ours. It took us a few days to figure this thing out but it is amazing.
I better shut up.

I'd like to see a picture of the General.

Bo's real General Lee is up for bid on E-Bay...it's up over $2 million I believe.
