ZBQ
is Blowin Smoke!
Well guys I am riding on farking BBQ cloud nine right now!!
Went out to MO Thursday and stayed in Hermann and I am now a Certified KCBS BBQ Judge!! I met Slamdunkpro, nthole and jbrink there too, so The Brethren had 4 in attendence. Bunny and Rich Tuttle taught the class and they are a really cool couple.
Drove over to Columbia on Friday to meet Mike (Slamdunkpro) to pick up our new pits at Spicewine and get the graphics applied. Mike did an outstanding job on my graphics! Thanks Mike!! Mike is a true Brother and I would Q with him anytime. If I'm available and you need a pit b!tch Mike, just say the word.
Terri was helpful and very nice as always. Jay and Steve were at the Harrisonville comp so I didn't get to meet "The Creators".
I can tell you guys that the pics don't do Jay's pits justice. I have looked at many, many different pits and Jay's are one of the nicest I have seen. The attention to detail is outstanding!
I can't thank the guys (and Terri too) at Spicewine enough!
After picking up our pits Mike and I drove to Versailles KY to the Woodford Reserve Bourbon Distillery to attend a Tailgating class by Brother Dr.BBQ. The drive there was quite an adventure, huh Mike? Drove through about 5 hours of heavy rain w/tornado warnings and sightings on the way.:x
We broke in my pit to do the beans for the class. Brother Ray is a class act guys. I really enjoyed the class and swapping stories with him after the class.
I did a complete seasoning of her today and I will tell you this. These cookers are awsome!! Used 2 chimneys of lit Rancher w/o any water in the pan and took her up to 300 where she stayed for the next 4 hours! Rock steady!!:eusa_clap:eusa_clap
Thanks Brother Jay!!
Anyways, here are the pics of my new pit and some pics of the trip to MO.
