• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

First time trying some meatloaf on the smoker and it turned out pretty darn good! I decided to smoke up some misc stuff we still had (the small little roast thing, is about a 1lb end from a pork roast we cooked in the crockpot recently. Had to trim it off for it to fit lol, it'll make a good lunch between some buns tomorrow.

Anyway, it wasn't a big cook or anything, but was a fun change from your normal meatloaf. Definitely going to do it again, though maybe with some adjustments. :thumb:

Looks like a tasty cook mate:thumb: congrats on loosing your meatloaf on a smoker virginity

Smoked meatloaf is one of the finer things in life. Great job!

Looks great from here too!! I love smoked meatloaf. Yours looks fantastic!

Smoked meat loaf is great! You can never go wrong.

I got bored one day and made up individual loafs for each one of us in the house and when all was said and done the kids said they never wanted meat loaf in the oven ever again lol.

Your cook looks fantastic!!

It won't be your last one... Although that may be the end of the ones from the oven.

Another mind and body damaged by the smoked loaf

Welcome to the club. My sons favorite meal is when I take leftover smoked meatloaf and make a hash with potatoes, bacon, and place a fried egg on top.

Thanks everyone! My kiddos loved it too, so that's always a plus lol.

Fnjay - I was hesitant about putting ketchup on it (I waited about an hour to try and let the smoke into the meat, which I'll do again) but next time I will coat the whole thing with ketchup. Ketchup seems to have a pretty magical transformation with heat and smoke, and I found myself wanting more. I'd also like to turn the heat up at the end more to try and build some of that "crust" that I love all so much.

I use BBQ sauce most of the time, but occasionally I'll still use the glaze from the Good Eats Meatloaf recipe.

For the glaze:
1/2 cup catsup
1 teaspoon ground cumin
Dash Worcestershire sauce
Dash hot pepper sauce
1 tablespoon honey
