• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Doing my first brisket today, the butcher shop only had nose off so it is just a flat. I will post pics later! I am excited. :clap2::clap2:

SmokinGator gave me a recipe for a brisket rub w/turbinado sugar.

The brisket just hit 170 internal temp, I double wrapped it in foil, put a couple tbs of butter on top and 1/4 cup of beef broth.

Nose Off???

Never heard it put that way, but know I want some!!!!

I Love Cow!!!

Yea I had never heard of nose off either, I asked the butcher like 3x 'so you cut the point off?' He wasnt getting it. How's it look for my first?? I hope it isnt dry.

Here it is ready to serve! I wrapped it up in towels in the cooler for a couple hours and it was still nice and hot! Super moist! It was FANTASTIC!

That does look nice and moist. What did you cook it in?

I have a UDS that I built last week. I used charcoal, with a fist sized chunk of mesquite and a fist sized chunk of cherry.

Great stuff... you've now done 1 more brisket than me!

Cheers!
