Yes, another UDS build, but I did a few things I haven't seen online.
Everything here is welded, but could also be done with bolts and rivets.
Burn out
Used disc blade, washer for easy hooking, and a balance weight.
Coal Basket, grate is about 3" off the bottom. Holds a 20 lbs bag. If I want water, I have a handy pail already attached. Also makes it easy to lift out.
Fire going, and adjustable shelf brackets visible.
Iteration one, with the hook I use to manipulate the ash pan.
The $20 find at Walmart, that made this so affordable. Provided the lid, cooking grate and coal grate.
New Smoker lid, instead of cutting the barrel, I cut the center out of the barrel lid and attached the dome lid to the barrel lid rim.
And the final product, with a 2"ball, probe port, and shelf. Minus the black paint it's now wearing.
I'm quite please with my first build, the price was right and the BBQ is excellent.
