• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Yep Morehead kentucky. We earned Grand Champions with our Spicewine this weekend at a non sanctioned event. Spicy held temps like a dream.

There was some stiff competition at Morehead. Wife deleted most pics and I am in the doghouse, but we got 4 trophies and a nice check!
4th in ribs
3rd in pork
2nd in anything but "salmon"
1st in Brisket
And honored as the Grand Champions.

Im tired but wanted to tell the brothers the news.

Congrats, Dale!

Congratulations Dale! Sanctioned/unsactioned GC is still a heck of a feat.

I am assuming you were not taking photos of smokers and turn ins?

Thanks guys.
I do have some pics that I will get up next week. Busy as hell at work, Vacation, BBQ comps and Im leaving Thursday for a 20 man golf weekend are taking its toll with my time, customers, and my wifes good nature.

This contest had some tough competition. One guy had 2 $30000.00 pits there. I wound up getting a good buzz on and didnt take many pics that my wife liked. She deleted many. If my 13 year old boy wasnt there with me, "he told her I was a good boy", It would have been worse. Oh yes, it was fun. I wont ever miss that contest.

How many cooks were there at the contest? I always wonder about the non-sanctioned events about how many folks are willing to show up. Did they use KCBS judging criteria?

I didnt count all the teams but I guess around 20. They are talking about going all KCBS next year. I like KCBS myself but this comp is run very well the way it is. For what its worth, most teams there cook KCBS events. My area of the planet doesnt have many comps very close to us which sux.
