• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

DAD’s MOP SAUCE

2 Cups Apple Cider Vinegar (Heinz)
1/2 Cup White Vinegar (Heinz)
1/2 Cup Apple Juice
1/4 Cup Dark Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
1 Tbsp Sea Salt/Kosher (or coarse salt)
1/2 Tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1/2 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/2 Tsp Sweet Paprika

Place all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir and reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. I prefer to make this the day before cooking at the same time I season my ribs and allow it to cool overnight to room temperature. Baste ribs every hour during cooking.

I've never mopped but have scrubbed a lot of floors. Willing to try. Is this for brisket or pork or both? How often? Ribs only?

I use a similar - but much less -finishing sauce for pork butt. Love it!

I like that flavor profile much better than the usual "spritz that rib with Apple juice."

Will try next rib cook brethren. Go Bucks!

pigskinbarbeque, thanks for mops recipe. Can't wait to try it out. You should put it in the BBQ Brethren Recipe Section. That way people can find it quickly.
