• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Hey, heading down to Memphis on Monday for a week with the family. Any Brethren in the area? Don't have much on the schedule other than eating lots of turkey if anyone wants to grab a beer or two.

Also heading to Atlanta tomorrow but no time to hang out. Arrive at 3pm, may try to find a decent place to eat downtown, then head back at 11pm. Any suggestions?

From Holly Eats:

Varsity:
The Nathan's of the South, or maybe Nathan's is the Varsity of the North.
The dogs are grilled and come with chili, mustard and onions. The Varsity is almost as famous for their onion rings. And the only thing to wash it all down with is a FO or frosted orange. Outstanding curb service and for those who prefer to eat inside, acres of dining rooms and split level parking.

Mary Mac's

The don't make 'em like Mary Mac's any more. An authentic southern tea room. Down home cooking, gentile dining rooms, genuinely warm service.
It's meat and three, though the third costs extra. For me, fried chicken, creamy cheese grits, good ol' fried green tomatoes and, of course, a bowl of greens. To drink, a tall icy glass of lemonade. For dessert, super sweet banana pudding, overflowing with sliced bananas, all atop a vanilla wafer and topped with a square of meringue. Only thing I didn't get was a "Y'all come back soon, ya here" on my way out the door. Then again it wasn't necessary. I can't imagine a trip to Atlanta without a meal at Mary Mac's.

Go to the Varsity if you want your oil changed. :) Mary Mac's, Bones, The Atlanta Fish Market, Chops, Manuels, The Highland Tap, and many more are worth going to visit depending where you are in town. My favorites are Bones and the Highland Tap. Bones is a traditional Southern mens club, and the prime rib is amazing. Been here longer than I've been alive.
