Medium Big Green Egg

I just picked up a medium green egg, and discovered that the grate is so low inside the egg that it is nearly impossible to flip ham burgers. Do any brethren have some advice to either reposition the grate or a know of spatula that will work?

Hopefully you still have the 'fire ring' which is a ceramic component that sits atop the charcoal basket. It's maybe a 4" tall and sort of a donut looking thing.

I bought a piece of 1/8” thick rectangular channel that was 1 1/2” x 2 1/2”and cut 5 pieces 3 1/2 “ in length that sit on the ceramic ring and that puts my grate level with the edge of the egg but I have a large so yours might not need to be as tall! Just a thought!

My BGE Mini had a fire ring that sat atop the fire bowl that brought the grate up to top. Does your Medium?
