advice

Hi, Im very happy with the WEBER smoky mountain 22.5 Smoker I just bought. ITS MADE IN AMERICA! Top quality and easy to assemble and use.

My opinion on the 108 is "That's a BIG smoker!"
Not very helpful I know, but I have cooked on a 60 and it does a great job, not too bad on fuel either. I would imagine the 108 would burn more than a split an hour, but then again it can cook about twice what the 60 can hold.
Someone with a big Lang will be along shortly, I'm sure. Happy shopping.
Are you thinking of catering or vending with your new toy?

Just googled the Lang. That's one big smoker and a whole bunch of money. I would go with something smaller. That is unless you are cookin for 50!

Are you experienced? HOw many do you really expect to cook for?

With a smaller unit you will use less fuel and have a lot less frustration starting out. I am using a used New Braunfels Bandera. and then I Just bought an off set.

The WSM is said to be one of the best and is only around $399 I think.

Take your time. I almost bought a unit that size and am I ever glad that I didn't.

Let us know what you decide. And Good Luck!

How many people are you cooking for?

Do you have any experience with very large offset pits?

My friend owns one and loves it, but he owns two restaurants!

What do you want to know about it?

does anyone have an opinion on a Lang 108 deluxe

lang's are great pits although they do tend to use more fuel since they are a reverse flow, but dont let this discourage you..:thumb:

i am use to a home made rotisory that has a gas burner and a wood/charcoal tray, alot of times i cook for 300 plus, new to smoking though started out smoking one hog got great reviews and a lot of request, own my own restaurant, in future might want to incorperate into it

Bigger is always better. Buy it if that is what you want . Don't buy smaller and 1 or2 years look at the the grill and say I've should of bought the 108.

lang isnt too big for small cooks.... bigger is better, the bigger it is,more forgiving it is. I use one twice that size. gatorpit predator
but i do wish i had a one the size of the 108 for smaller cookouts as my kingsford barrel with firebox is to small and finicky.

If your planning on using it for your restaurant once you get it figured out, you will want the bigger one. more consistent and more volume. just make sure you have plenty of wood supply. Once you learn it you can figure out how to LEAVE it the hell alone and not use so much fuel.

Love the reverse flow. The vertical box tends to run a warmer than my predator, because it sits above the fire box. but keeps the cabinet warm, the temps and smoke consistant
