Looking for BBQ restaurant recommendation in the Carolinas

I’m driving from Charlotte, NC to Columbia, SC in few days and am hoping to find some good eats along the way. Any recommendations? Thanks.

There is not much off I-77. In Lexington, Hudson Brothers is good, not great BBQ, but veggies are real good. Little Pig is Columbia is good, and right off I-77/I-20. Go a little further south to Batesburg, the Shealy's is a massive BBQ buffet that has served a few Presidents in the past.

I have stopped 2 times at local places on that very route both had way too much Vinegar for my taste. I have stopped at the Sonny's chain between them and it was pretty good.
