• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

hi,
i would like to go and look at a bandera before i buy one. does anybody know where they sell them on long island? i only seem to find horizontal ones around here. of that kind i was considering the char griller smokin' pro. i thought i saw a bunch of those at the grillkings contest. any information would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
phil

Let me know if you find any on Long Island, NYC or the tri-state area. I'd like to buy one too. You're real close to the Poohbah's place, send him a PM (BBQCHEF33). I'd be willing to bet he'd let you check out his equipment.

I had to buy mine direct from Char-Broil early `04. Been a while, I think it was about $280 delivered?

Did`nt someone recently post the Bandera being discontinued?

I spoke with Charbroil - I think it was in the spring and the guy on the phone implied that they were being discontinued. He used phrases like Lowe's still carries them and has some left. He wouldn't come right out and say it, but I was left with the distinct impression that they were being killed off.

I just picked mine up at Academy last week. Spoke to Charbroil a few weeks ago and they said the Bandera was one of their best sellers. Doesnt sound like they are getting rid of it to me.

I saw a bandera in a local Lowe's just a couple of weeks ago. Don't think "Bandera" was on the name badge, but that is what it was. $279.00.
Of course if it is discontinued, there might still be residual stock floating around.

I paid $197 and that is the regular price. They said it never goes on sale because they sell too well down here.

PM me, u can come check it out.

I bet the local hardware store here in Harlingen still has 2 OK Joes banderas for $450. Heavy muthas.

Check the Roadmap thread at the top of this forum.

I think Tim posted the SKU's for Loews, which might help your search.

Home Depot carries them here in Atlanta. If you have the correct SKU, they will ship them to your local HD and not charge freight. A coworker of mine just had one shipped to Willimington NC and his total cost was $319.

HD has a "Friends & Family" sale here in Atlanta at the end of their fiscal Qtr (fiscal year runs Feb-Jan) so their next end of QTR is last weekend in Oct. I assume that the sale is offered nation wide. 10% off all purchases if you have the cupon. Usually I find that if you as a sales associate a couple of days prior, they will give you one. If you do get one, go ahead and stock up on Kingsford, thermomerters, cover, high temp Silicon, lava rocks or fire bricks and everything else you can think of. It adds up.
