• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

OK. I been watching Fwismoker cook over live fire on his barrel for a minute now, and obsessing about trying it. Tonight, I took a small swing at it.

My wife's been asking for "flame broiled" burgers, so I split up some small pieces of oak, added my rotisserie ring to the weber and went after it. I have screws at the top of the rotisserie ring to hold the grate higher if i want. It proved to be not quite high enough, so I eventually grabbed my raised 18" grate to give me a little more distance from the fire.

The burgers were slightly overcooked, but had unbelievable flavor. As we were eating, my wife said "Now we need to try chicken and pork chops like this."

Those burgers look nice and juicy. Well done!

Also, I think every family either owns (or has owned) those plates.

LOL - they were my grandpa's. He gave them to me to stock my kitchen with stuff when I divorced my practice wife 27 years ago. He got them for my grandma when I was a kid, prolly 73-74-75 range. They got a lot of miles, and a couple stories in them too!

Yeah, looks great. Love cooking over a live fire. Unbelievable flavors.
