Neighbor was loving my UDS, so I says, Build One! He said OK, how.
Gave my pointers and a mix of guides from here, and other sources. (Thanks Norco once again for the redneck build).

A week later hes rocking one Kick Arse UDS, well Pretty Drum Smoker. He went with 1 inch pipe fitting, I think this may prove a good choice. In no wind conditions all three of my 3/4" fittings wide open cant quite make it past 275*- 300*.
He also needed a new kettle, so it was a no brainer to go with the Weber.

Not sure if I have seen it before, however instead of expanding the lid to fit on the drum , he grinded the crimped side of the drum down a a 16th- an 8th. The weber lid fits the drum more snug than the kettle.

$150 in the toatal build including the kettle!! Basket was a freebie, had left over expanded at work.

I see the thermometer for the offset...it is on the new drum. Great job!
