Kingsford professional v regular

I bought a bag of professional briquets but have not opened it as of yet. Any comments as how it compares to the regular briquets and to lump? I'm smoking on a UDS when not using my stick burner.

I've burned a few bags of the Professional lately and I really like the stuff. I used it in my WSM and have had consistently cleaner fires than with the old KBB. I believe it's the old Competition rebranded.

Yup. It's good stuff. I still like Stubbs best but it's a quality briquette.

A bit better than KBB but I still prefer lump by a wide margin from most things. There is still the nasty white smoke on lighting and they still leave way more ash than lump, and the price isn't cheap enough to put up with that.

I didn't notice any difference.

Hotter. With a chimney of comp vs KBB, I can hardly touch the handle to dump

I would say it burns a bit hotter and faster.

K-Pro is new name for Kingsford Competition. Have not use Pro, but do use Comp. It does burn hotter & cleaner (IMHO) than KBB. Produces a lot less ash. Very comparable to Stubbs. I think Stubbs produces less ash than K-Comp/Pro but that is just my unscientific observation.
