Kettle question

Just walked by a yard sale and they had what looks to be an older Weber 18" ... same handle, vent, and legs but there's no stamping in the vent.

Is that normal for an older Weber 18.5 not having the Weber stuff put in the vent?

I can go take a picture of it if it will help...sure looks like an old school Weber kettle w/wood handle.

I've never seen one with no stamping on the top vent. Maybe it was replaced with one from the bottom? Here are some top vents.

Nope crazy...I mean it looks just like a Weber but I'll swing down there later and take a pic "If" it's still there.

Might be a Sears "Econo Kettle"....made by Weber for Sears for a few years (not totally sure which years)

Or, a Happy Cooker....also sold by Sears, I believe.....HC was sued & then bought out by Weber....they look very much alike....18" Happys are pretty rare.....

I owned a Happy Cooker once, it had the name on the vent.
I Googled Sears "Econo Kettle" and came up with this. The vent looks blank and it's 18".

Looks like that was it, I could of had one for $15 but it's probably gone now. I'll check tomorrow for sure.
