• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Decided to do some skewers while the weather cooperated.
Stew beef marinated overnight in Italian Dressing.
Chicken thighs in Teriyaki.
White mushroom caps in Balsamic-garlic.
Baby potatoes.
Red onion and red bell peppers.
Pineapple chunks.

The potatoes came with their own seasoning -

I like putting each item on its own skewer to allow for different cook times. It seems the onion and pepper took longest but they're OK raw anyway.

I'm not liking these skewers, they don't hold the food well enough to rotate. The skewers just turn in the hole . Gotta find something else.

Dual prong skewers work better at allowing the food to be rotated although they can split your food and fall off if it’s cubed too small.

Thanks. I found some wide flat blade skewers on Amazon that'll prolly work too.

Nicely done. Glad you entered the Throwdown. You need to state in the TD thread that this is the official entry for the Throwdown

Yeah, you need some of those flat sword type skewers hat Sako uses.

I found my flat skewers at WalMartt. Work really well.

Dave, what did you find? I got tired of skinny skewers and just received an order from Amazon for long, flat blade skewers. They look nice.

Flat Skewers
Those are what I found too, John. But I'm looking at the 3/8" wide versions. Does the length spec include the handle?

Dave, the skewers I have have a blade 18 3/4" long, with a 23" total length.
