• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Thanks Rich. I just emailed them to sign up for this class! Any other MOFOs thinkin' of this? We could have a mini-bash the night before in St. Louis...

The time of the class has been changed to 5 PM to 9 PM - which does NOT fit with our plans, so the Fragile Flower and I are no longer planning on being there.

Hey, Jeff. I will be attending the KCBS certification class in St. Louis. I'll be flying in Friday morning and meeting another friend and my brother-in-law. Hope to see you there.
Fark The Big One!!!!!

I'd like to hook up with you and Jeff after I get out of school/work on Friday or Saturday

FWIW, according to the KCBS site, there will be a CBJ class in KC, KS on May 25 taught by Ed Roith

WSNM,
I am going to be flying into St. Louis on Sat morning or early afternoon. I'll have my cell phone and I have an 800# running into it. 1-800-899-2205 Give me a call that day and maybe we can get together and talk some BBQ!!!!!
Or you can call me at work at 1-800-676-5034.
Ed

Rich, thanks for the info on the KCK class however, I'd prefer to not wait until the 25th of May to get this done. That's the start of the Weekend of the GAB contest at the Woodlands and time off will be an issue for that. Besides, I'd like to judge one or two contests in March and April before Big Creek BBQ gets cranked up for the season.

BTW... more than likely, I'll be in St. Louis early afternoon on Saturday and plan to drive back to KC immediately after the class is over Saturday night. I'm not real thrilled that they made the class an evening class now but I guess I'll make do.

Hey Thanks, Kevin! I hadn't seen that schedule previously!

Ed and Rich, sorry but I'd rather drive 1 hour as opposed to four! Plus, I was going to have a rough time of it in St. Louis that weekend... Have to be at Lake of the Ozarks (central Missouri) all day Friday and 3 hours Saturday morning for real estate continuing education classes then drive to St. Louis in the afternoon on Saturday, stay til 9pm then drive back to KC, getting home around 1 or 2am! I much prefer this!

BTW Kevin... when you go to the KCBS Web site, click on Classes and choose "Judging Classes", this is what you get:

Where did you come up with the link above? Weird!

Hey Jeff,
Maybe I'll catch ya the next time or at a comp next year someplace. Have a GREAT day!!!!!

Crap! Just figured it out! Those you listed appear to be cooking classes, Kevin! I just sent an email to the guy in St. Louis to remove me from his list for the Jan 21 class! Oh well, surely there'll be something closer to home before May 25!

Sorry about that Jeff, must be a small glitch on KCBS web site. This is a copy and paste from the page I linked.

KCBS Certified BBQ Judge Training Classes

Well Jeff, I'm not thrilled with the time change:eek: , in fact I don't think I will be attending the class myself:tongue: - but I will stop by in the afternoon to yak at my friends Troy and Tony of Smokin' T's who will be cooking the food:mrgreen: .

I sure hope to hook up with Kickass Ed.

I can't believe that there will not be a judging class in KC prior to May. No Way!

I also just realized that the CBJ class has now been moved to the same night as the KCBS Awards Banquet in Kansas City! That totally bites! I'll be attending the banquet that night to help honor some really deserving people. I'll grab CBJ training some other time...

The CBJ class is on Jan 28 and I thought that the Banquet is on Jan 21. But the time of day that the class is offered is lousy and I just don't believe that the next CBJ class in KC isn't until MAY!

OK I misread that. Although I agree that the time is lousy, I think I'll go ahead and try to get that done since it is on the 28th if those folks at St. Richards will still have me... I've apparently registered twice AND cancelled!

Well, you do APPEAR to be a bit flakey:oops: , but the guy running it is a GREAT BIG FARKEN FLAKE:eek: so he should welcome you like a Brother:biggrin:

Jan. 28th Judging class

I heard they're in a little turmoil over this class. They had it set up for 25 to 30 people, and are now expecting like 80.

Don't know who is in turmoil. I visited with Ed Roith about it on Saturday night at the KCBS Awards banquet and he was aware of it and didn't outwardly appear to be concerned about it.
