• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

What needs to happen to have a judging class around D.C? DO i need to contact a rep and let them know there is some interest?

I'm interested as well. I have been keeping an eye out on for any classes in Maryland/VA/NC and haven't found anything yet.

When I took my class last year, I drove 3.5 hrs., one way to Laurens S.C..

I didn't understand why they couldn't have had one in Columbia or Charleston.

I know there would be full classes if they were offered in any of those two major cities in our state.

I know our team would be interested as well, we have been looking for one for the past three years! It's like Va is a dead zone for judging classes!

They usually host a judging class at the Naptown event early may in Crownsville Md. Not sure if they still offer this.

Your best bet is to hook up with one of the few NoVA contests. As was mentioned, Naptown has had one the past few years. There is a contest in Fredericksburg, VA in May and Oxon Hill MD in June.

Do they hold a judging class at the Jamboree in Fredricksburg?

Here is the response from KCBS:

"Judging classes are put on by local organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, VFW’s and city parks departments. If you belong to such an organization (or know somebody who does) I invite you to consider hosting a class. I’ve attached a copy of our CBJ Organizers’ Guide and a class application. If, after reading the guide, you would like to host a class please fill out the application and return it to me for review. Thank you for your interest in KCBS!"

Anyone belong to any of these organizations? If you'd like the application and the Guide please message me.

Not in your area, but NEBS will host a KCBS judge certification class in MA on April 24th. (There will be a NEBS cooking class held on the 23rd. Guess how we get the prep done for the judging class? :becky: )

It's not on the web site yet, but will be shortly.
