• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I found this used Kamado style "Snap On Tools Edition" ceramic grill for sale on a local Facebook sale group. I did some research and I think it may be a Brinkmann Trailmaster Ceramic Egg. I'm not familiar with this grill. They say they've only used it a handful of times. The guy's wife says the'll take $300 for it. The guy is a Snap-On Tools Dealer. This was a promotional item they sent him a year ago and he bought it. He doesn't know how to grill.

You bought it I hope? Seems like a solid deal to me

Looks like my son's Vision. I thought KJ had Stainless or Logos cast iron caps, and figured KJ would be on the Therm. I've only seen KJ's from a distance though, so I could be mistaken.

That cart is really cool. And extremely nice to have with a ceramic cooker.

Yeah it doesn't look like a Kamado Joe. The lower intake is different and the daisy wheel doesn't have the logo on it.

Regardless of what it is if it has snap on logo on it. It has to be solid. Awesome cooker!

Definitely a Brinkmann, but definitely worth $300 all day.

I heard you should only burn lump in ceramic grills. If they used briquettes can that damage it?

It probably won't damage it. They can go up to 700+ degrees easily without damage. The only concern I'd have about briquets is the chemicals. You should never use lighter fluid or everything you ever cook will taste like lighter fluid. I fear the same from briquets. I've always had great results from Royal Oak lump, so I see no need to ever use anything else.

Briquettes will not damage the unit and all natural are easy enough to come by these days. The challenge with briquettes in a Kamado is ash production and the ash snuffing out the fire on a long cook. I have used briquettes on short high heat cooks without a problem when lump was not available.

The mechanic who works on my delivery trucks has one of these in his shop. He's never used it and I think had it for two years. It definitely looks like my Vision.

Why haven't you bought it?!? The cart alone is probably worth that much!

I'm going to go take a look in person to verify the condition. Since they didn't know how to operate a ceramic grill I want to make sure they didn't irreparably damage anything.
